Canada broadens application period for Post-Graduation Work Permits, drops valid study license prerequisite

Worldwide alumni of qualified Canadian schools currently have 180 days to apply for a PGWP

The Government of Canada declared the progressions on Thursday, February 14, alongside different adjustments to its prominent Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) program.

The time for the recent graduates who apply for a PGWP is doubled compared to the previous requirement from 90 days to 180 days, once the final marks are declared by the school. Another comparing change was the removal of the necessity that worldwide alumni have a substantial study grant while applying for a PGWP.

(IRCC) Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship presently say an examination grant should just have been valid “sooner or later” amid the 180 days that graduates currently need to present their PGWP application.

 About the Post-Graduation Work Permit
