The Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship made an announcement that will significantly impact Canada’s caregivers. They have cut the amount of experience necessary for a caregiver to qualify for permanent residence in half: down from 24 months to merely 12! Beginning April 30, 2023, this change will take effect and be applicable to caregivers who have already put in their applications.Subsequently, families of caregivers and their own transitions to permanent lodging in Canada will be improved significantly. This translates into successful settlement for all involved, leading to more prosperous lives in our nation.IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) plans to make a positive impact on processing times by reducing the amount of required work experience for applications in Canada. This update is likely to benefit approximately 90% of all current applications being processed.
