Alberta held 14 draws through its Express Entry aligned system so far in 2019, issuing a total number of 3,357 ITAs (invitations to apply) for provincial nomination program. The CRS or Comprehensive Ranking System score was as low as 300 for Express Entry candidates.

The candidates nominated by Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) will get additional 600 points added to their CRS scores maximizing their chances of getting an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.

The Alberta Express Entry Stream was introduced last year, which allows the province to search immigration candidates from the federal Express Entry pool who meet the specified eligibility criteria and invite them to apply for provincial nomination.

In order to be considered for Canadian residence from Alberta, the Express Entry candidate must have at least 300 CRS score and should be working in an occupation that is listed in Alberta’s in-demand occupation list, among other criteria to be considered for a nomination for Canadian PR from Alberta.

In order to be eligible, a job offer or a previous work experience in Alberta is not required. But the candidates with a job offer or work experience in Alberta, a Canadian post-secondary degree or a parent/child/sibling already living in Alberta may be prioritized for an ITA for a provincial nomination.
