For the longest time China has been the leading country in outward student mobility. But off late India has started giving China a tough competition. According to the latest reports, the number of Indian students who sought education abroad last year over passed the number of Chinese students. The rate at which the student mobility rose was 18% in India as opposed to just 14% in China

China still has the largest population of immigrant students studying in Universities across the world. This number is roughly 700,000 per year. Indian students are also huge in number but close to 85% of them study in five countries. This number is an astonishing 300,000.

The preferred countries for Indian students are New Zealand, Canada and UK along with Australia, and US, . Newzealand and Australia are the favourites where the admissions rose by more than 15%. Canada saw a 10% increase in Indian students since 2009.

Although UK is a popular destination, the rate of student enrolment from India fell by 23%. The reason behind this drop is the changes in Immigration and visa policies. In the case of Germany the situation is just the opposite. Despite hosting about one third less than the UK, Germany has picked up has a preferred destination for students across the world. The main reasons behind a 25% increase in student enrolment are this is the education quality and affordable prices.

USA is still the most proffered destination for Indian students. The number of students who sought admission in US rose by 30%. A third of all immigrant Indian students choose to be in US. Germany offers affordable colleges and it is renowned for its expertise in technological studies . China is the first choice when you are opt for medicine , And yet US is where everyone wants to be. You must wonder what is the reason behind this. Indian students are becoming allured to the charm of business schools and universities in US. The competition for admission in the best colleges is tougher in India and therefore many students wish to seek internationally recognized quality courses abroad.
