Invitations for FSWP and CEC candidates will resume “early July,”

According to the Immigration Levels Plan 2022-2024, Express Entry landings are expected to rise over the next two years, with IRCC aiming to attract more than 110,000 newcomers through Express Entry by 2024.

The Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced that the department will resume issuing invitations to apply for permanent residence under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) in July. In addition, the minister confirmed that holders of Post-Graduation Work Permits (PGWPs) who have completed their studies in Canada will be able to work for any employer without a work permit. This change is expected to come into effect later this summer.

The news will be welcomed by Express Entry candidates and recent graduates who have been waiting for an opportunity to immigrate to Canada. With the resumption of FSWP and CEC invitations, and the introduction of open work permits for PGWP holders, Canada is sending a strong signal that it is open for business and ready to welcome skilled immigrants.

The latest announcement by IRCC will provide greater certainity for Canadian immigration hopefuls. With the resumption of FSWP and CEC invitations, as well as the introduction of open work permits for PGWP holders, Express Entry remains a viable option for those looking to move to Canada.
