New opportunities in 2019 through Provincial Nominee Programs

Time taken to receive an ITA for Canada PR

We have seen recent changes in PNPs of few provinces like Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Manitoba. There was a recent change in Saskatchewan’s in-demand occupations which reminds us that the provincial nominee programs are constantly changing.

PNPs or Provincial Nominee Programs are playing a very important role in Canada’s immigration process for a few years. These PNPs allow different provinces and territories to set a number of economic immigration candidates for Canadian PR each year.

PNP developments that have taken place this year:

  • Nova Scotia’s Labour Market Priorities stream targeting Accountants and Financial Auditors. Draws conducted so far through Labour Market Priority stream does not require any job offer from an employer (Nova Scotia).
  • Ontario’s record nomination allocation – 2019. The province’s allocation has increased to 300 over the year before. Job offer is not required to be eligible.
  • Revision in Saskatchewan’s in-demand occupation list grows from 20 to 24. There is an addition of 13 new occupations and removal of nine occupations. A job offer is not required to be eligible.
  • Ongoing renewal of Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program – has skilled worker overseas (Human Capital Pathway) which was scheduled for February but has still not rolled out.

These were few developments which took place in 2019 so far. To more about the above- mentioned programs get in touch with our team.
