New Opportunity Stream by Alberta Immigration

Alberta province of Canada has a new immigration stream called as alberta opportunity stream.

Alberta province of Canada introduced a new Opportunity Stream for immigrants. This entry is a part of Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)

A new immigration scheme named Opportunity stream is launched by Alberta Province of Canada. The applications under this scheme are to be accepted from January 2, 2018, under Alberta Immigration Nominee Program (AINP).

This new scheme will replace two presently existing entries: Employer-Driven Stream and Strategic Recruitment Stream. However, applications under these two streams will continue to be accepted until the new scheme comes into effect. The processing of already submitted applications will continue after induction of new Opportunity Stream, but, no new applications will be accepted under Employer-Driven and Strategic Recruitment Stream thereafter.

Successful candidates in Opportunity Stream will be provided a provincial nomination, which can bring them permanent residency of Canada in future applications.

Applicants who have a job offer from an employer in Alberta are eligible to apply for Opportunity Stream. There is no specific condition for the job offer to be within skilled occupation parameters. Most of the occupations, which fall under National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill levels 0, A, B, C, and D are eligible for this entry.

Applicants need to have either a minimum of one-year full-time work experience in their current occupation in Alberta within last 18 months or 2 years of full-time work experience in Canada or abroad within last 30 months.

Also, the applicant must possess a threshold income to support the life of family and self in Alberta.
