Now Fully Vaccinated Tourists are Eligible to visit Canada

As of September 7, 2021, Canada will open its borders to fully vaccinated travelers.

Travelers must have completed the entire immunization regimen. They must also be inoculated with a vaccine that has been approved by Health Canada.

This means that travelers must have taken two doses of either the Pfizer, Moderna, or AstraZeneca vaccines, or two doses of the Janssen vaccination.

Other vaccines that have been approved in other parts of the world are currently being rejected.

Furthermore, tourists must have had their most recent dose at least 14 days prior to their trip to Canada. On August 9, 2021, Canada began allowing fully vaccinated American citizens and permanent residents to enter the country. The Canadian government was able to prepare for the full opening of their border to vaccinated individuals as a result of this first step.

Detailed Information before Entering the Maple Country

Travelers arriving in Canada must use the ArriveCAN mobile or web application to provide their personal and travel information.

Even if they are completely vaccinated, they will need to demonstrate a pre-arrival COVID-19 molecular test result. Travelers may also be randomly selected for a COVID-19 test once they arrive in Canada. They will also need to produce confirmation of vaccination and must be free of any virus symptoms.

In addition, if travelers visiting Canada meet certain criteria, they will be exempt from quarantine.

In the event that the border officer judges that they do not match these conditions, they will still be required to prepare a quarantine plan.

Unvaccinated children under the age of 12 will be allowed to enter Canada without having to go through quarantine if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian who is fully vaccinated.

Non-vaccinated foreign nationals are not permitted to enter Canada. Temporary workers, international students, diplomats, and those who are going for a vital reason are among those who are permitted to enter Canada. If they are not fully vaccinated, these people must be quarantined for 14 days when they arrive.

It’s also worth noting that international flights are only permitted to land at the following nine Canadian airports:

  • Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport;
  • Edmonton International Airport;
  • Halifax Stanfield International Airport;
  • Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport;
  • Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport;
  • Montreal-Trudeau International Airport;
  • Vancouver International Airport;
  • Calgary International Airport;
  • Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Furthermore, flights from India will be prohibited until September 21, while flights from Morocco will be prohibited until September 29.

Those traveling to Canada from India or Morocco will be required to stop in a third country and obtain a negative COVID-19 test before continuing to Canada. The COVID-19 exam will have to be completed within 72 hours of the final flight to Canada departing.
