There is shortage of early childhood teachers and special education teachers in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW). Early childhood teachers are those who teach children in the age group of 0-8 years. Special education teachers are those who are trained or have experience in teaching children with special needs such as those with behavioral problems, mental health disorders, disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder etc.

So if you have training or experience in teaching small children or special needs children then you have a chance of getting a work-visa to Australia. Early childhood teacher roles may require you to work in long day care.

Most of the vacancies in NSW for special education and early education teachers are in regional areas. So you should be open to working in the interior parts of the state if you want to migrate to Australia on this work visa. NSW is a coastal state with picturesque environment. Sydney is its capital.

According to data from Australian Department of Immigration, around 250 work visas to teachers were given each year between the periods of 2009-14.

For the period between 2014-15 and 2017-18, the Australian government has committed to spending A$ 31 billion on early childhood education. This kind of expenditure means that the demand for early childhood education teachers is likely to increase in the near future.

A National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education and Care (NQF) has already been established by the national government. This indicates that early childhood education is an area of priority for Australian government and NSW government.

If you are a teacher with qualification or experience in dealing with children with special needs then you always have a chance to get work visa to Australia.

Those migrating to Australia on teacher work-visa can get permanent residency permit there after working for a few years.
