The Atlantic Immigration Program extended to 2021

The popular Atlantic immigration pilot program is being extended to 2021, so far more than 2500 primary applicants and their family members are welcomed as permanent residents of Canada. The good news for new applicants is that some eligibility criteria have been relaxed so that the option of moving to Atlantic province can attract more individuals and their families to Canada.

An initiative was taken by the federal government and the provinces of Atlantic namely Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and PEI (Prince Edward Island) to start an employer-driven Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, which was launched in 2017.

It’s the 3rd year of this pilot project, and it has helped the province to bring skilled, experienced and educated newcomers to restore the shortage of labor in the regions they previously struggled to retain locals.

Applicants having a valid job offer from an approved employer and fulfill other criteria of immigration are eligible to move to any of the above-mentioned provinces. Nearly, 1,896 employers in Atlantic province have given 3,729 job offers through the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program so far. And at approx. 4,769 families have applied for permanent residence with their families under this program.
