IELTS (International English Language Testing System) scores are required for immigration to Australia, New Zealand, United States and United Kingdom. Besides this around 3000 universities and colleges in United States take IELTS scores as one of the factors while considering admission application of a foreign student. So if you have a high IELTS score then your chances of getting admission to these US universities and colleges increases. And right now the easiest way to migrate to US is to first study there in a University or College and then try to get a job during the post-study work period that is given as part of student visas to United States.

IELTS score is therefore very important for those who want to migrate to one of the countries mentioned above. In 2014 around 3 million people in more than 100 countries took the IELTS test. This makes IELTS the most popular and most widely recognized English language test for those who want to migrate to developed countries whose first language is English.

The validity of your IELTS score is usually for two years. So if you take your IELTS test in 2016 and get a good score then that score will be valid at least till 2018. During this period you can use this score for applying for work visas or student visas to a number of countries.

Through good performance in the IELTS test you can significantly improve your chances of migrating to the country of your choice. So take this test with due sincerity and appear in it after preparation. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that just because you can speak or read English, you will score well in this test. You will still need some preparation for meeting the requirements of some specific and unique aspects of this test.
