The number of international students has increased in the past few years, there’s a rise of 12% in 2018. A hike of 3.5% in the base pay rates has been announced by The Fair Work Commission (FWC). The new minimum wage rate has been set is at AUD$ 18.93 per hour or AUD$ 23.66 for casual workers. This has come to an effect from 1^st July 2018.

The international students also have the same rights at the workplace, just like other workers in the Australian workforce and hence it’s a good news for the students. This will not affect the employees who are already getting a higher pay than the new minimum wages.
