Canada Student visas processing will be streamlined

Keeping in mind the goal to give more qualified universal students the chance to learn at a Canadian post-secondary Institution and to shorten the visa application handling time, the Government of Canada has rolled out a few improvements to the Students visa program.

The current Student Partnership Program (SPP) in India will be replaced with the Student Direct Stream (SDS) this month. This new SDS program will replace existing assistance programs for students in India, as well as in China, the Philippines and Vietnam.

The current SPP in India is limited to global students expecting to learn at one of around 40 post-secondary establishments in Canada.

Every single universal student setting off to any Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada can make use of the new SDS, including both openly supported and private post-secondary organizations. The SDS will offer speedier and more straightforward visa handling to global students best set to finish their academic studies. It will be a solitary program over the above-named four nations in Asia, with a view to assessing and in the long run growing it to different nations.

SDS will be accessible to more students going to more schools in Canada. It will give quicker visa processing for high caliber students, who additionally contribute to the pool of potential permanent residents of Canada.

The High Commissioner for Canada to India Nadir Patel stated: “Canada has rapidly turned into the favored goal for Indian students searching for a high-quality education. Canada gives a world-class education in a protected and safe environment at a reasonable cost. The new SDS will accommodate students seeking to go to Canada with a much speedier and more streamlined visa application process.”

In order to benefit from speedier processing and be part of the SDS, global students should give verification that they:

  • have paid their educational cost for the first year;
  • the student needs to possess a GIC, (Guaranteed Investment Certificate) of $ 10,000 from one of the budgetary organizations affirmed by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.
  • have finished a forthright medical examination
  • have the base required IELTS level of English dialect capacity of 6.0 in all classifications (Listening, reading, composing and speaking);
