The Australian government has announced New Skill Transfer Visa for highly skilled immigrants from India and other countries. According to experts, this visa will be launched on a pilot basis from 1^st July 2018 that targets highly skilled immigrants to the country. The goal is to transfer skills to workers that are local and are assisting Australia in business growth. This is also going to be one of the best ways of Australia immigration from India.

The new Skill Transfer Visa will mainly have two categories: Established business and Start-up business. Both these categories have to apply through government norms such that they are able to sponsor highly skilled applicants for certain positions. Start-up businesses intending to apply must be functional and should be operating within STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) associated sector.

The companies applying for established businesses must have an annual turnover of minimum 4 million AUD in past 2 years and also should be listed publicly.

Mentioned here are some eligibility criteria which should be fulfilled before applying for the Australia Skill Transfer Visa:

• Health, character and security requirements should be fulfilled.
• There should not be any family relations with the business shareholders/directors etc.
• Should be highly qualified.
• Should have minimum three years of work experience in the relevant field.
• Ability to transfer skills.
• Salary requirement is 1) Under the Established business Visa stream, the advertised position must have a yearly salary of minimum 180,000 AUD.
• For the Start-up Visa stream, the advertised position must have a yearly salary of 53,900 AUD.

Successful applications are eligible for Temporary Skill Shortage Visa for four years, after completion of three years an individual can apply for permanent residence.
