The province of Nova Scotia issued new invitations to apply (ITAs) for Canadian residence through its Labour Market Priorities immigration stream. The province has not mentioned the number of invitations issued in the March 20 draw.

The Labour Market Priorities Stream helps Nova Scotia Nominee Program find candidates from the federal Express Entry pool who meet labour market need. The past draws done through this stream targeted financial auditors or accountants and early childhood educators.

The Express Entry candidates who listed French as their first official language were eligible for invitation issued on March 20. Invited candidates had to have minimum language proficiency level of CLB 7 (Canadian Language Benchmark ) or higher in all the abilities like reading, writing, listening and speaking (French) as well as a CLB 5 or higher in all the abilities of English language.

The other requirements include:

• A bachelor’s degree or a program of three or more years at a university/college/technical school or another institute.
• An Express Entry profile submitted on or after 25^th September 2018.

Express Entry candidates have 30 days from the date their Letter of Interest has been issued to submit a complete application to the province nomination. Apart from this candidates are also rewarded 600 additional points from the province from which they get the nomination. This increases candidates CRS score making it easier to get an invitation for a Canadian permanent residence.
