Nova Scotia Re-opens Popular Express Entry Category

The province of Nova Scotia accepted 350 new applications on 28th April Saturday for its Category B of Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry immigration stream. The province has also reduced its occupation list from 16 to 11.

To apply for Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry for Category B, applicants must have at least one year of work experience in any of the 11 occupation list mentioned in the Category B. There is no minimum CRS score and no job offer is required for this category.

This stream (Category B) serves on first come first serve basis and the applicants nominated by Nova Scotia are given 600 CRS points which makes them well-positioned for an ITA (Invitation to Apply) for a Permanent Resident.

Applicants who wish to apply for Category B of Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry Stream must have:

  • At least one year of skilled work experience (full-time or equivalent part-time) in the last six years in one of the occupation list mentioned in 11 categories given by Nova Scotia.
  • Must have their education credentials assessed by one of the four designated credential assessment agencies. And should be an equivalent level to that of Canadian education.
  • An adequate intermediate language proficiency in French and English is the must. CLB 7 (Canadian Language Benchmark) should be obtained by a standardized language test acceptable by the government of Nova Scotia and Canada.
  • Applicant should obtain minimum 67 points on Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry stream. Points are based on age, language proficiency, education, work experience, and adaptability.
  • Should have a profile registered in (IRCC) Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada’s Express Entry stream.
