Canada’s Express Entry-connected Provincial Nominee Programs

It’s been a bustling summer for Canada’s Express Entry-connected Provincial Nominee Programs, with advancements in Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, and Ontario driving the way.

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) enable Canadian areas and regions to assign a set number of immigrants for Canadian permanent residence every year. Canada’s 11 PNPs currently has no less than one “improved nomination” stream that enables it to welcome applicants in the government’s Express Entry framework to apply for a provincial nomination.

Express Entry deals with the pool of contenders for Canada’s three government economic movement programs — the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Canadian Experience Class.

A provincial nomination acquired through an Express Entry-connected movement stream grants applicants in the Express Entry pool an extra 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. The extra point stakes competitors forward for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent living arrangement. Canada’s PNPs will be in charge of more than 30 percent of arranged economic migration to Canada in 2018.

Saskatchewan presents new Express Entry EOI

Among the key advancements this late spring, was the territory of Saskatchewan’s change from a first-come, first-served application way to deal with an Expression of Interest framework for its Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand migration sub-categories.

Under an Expression of Interest (EOI) framework, the migration applicants make a profile and give the necessary data as an initial step to being considered under the movement program. The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) reported its first invitations to apply for a provincial selection under this new EOI framework on August 21, with 466 invitations were issued to candidates in the Express Entry sub-category in question.

Nova Scotia’s presents Labor Market Priorities Stream

The Atlantic Canada region of Nova Scotia additionally introduced an option with its list of Express Entry-connected migration pathways toward the beginning of August with the formation of its Labor Market Priorities Stream.

This new stream permits Nova Scotia’s Office of Immigration to distinguish Express Entry competitors who meet “market-recognized labor shortages” to apply for a provincial nomination.

The Labor Market Priorities Stream’spredetermined occupations could differ from draw to draw contingent upon Nova Scotia’s needs. “Pulling in and retaining skilled specialists will enable a rise in access to essential services, for example, early youth training, while at the same time developing our population,” a representative for Nova Scotia’s Office of Immigration reports. “This will fortify our networks and our provincial economy — profiting all Nova Scotians.”

Ontario Express Entry

One of the greatest PNP draws of the late spring occurred on August 9 when Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities Stream issued 947 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to Express Entry applicants with work offers in the region and CRS scores as low as 350.

These were the main invitations issued through the Human Capital Priorities Stream since March when Ontario held a focused job offer draw. In that draw, Ontario welcomed 480 Express Entry applicants with CRS extending from 351 to 446.

Ontario’s other two Express Entry-connected streams — the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream and the Skilled Trades Stream — have likewise been dynamic this mid-year.
