391 potential PNP candidates receive invites through Saskatchewan

On September 27, Saskatchewan issued a second set of invitations.

391 people were invited to apply for one of two immigration programs through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). 152 of those invited may qualify for the SINP’s Express Entry subcategory, and 239 for the Occupations In-Demand subcategory.

On Saskatchewan’s Expression of Interest (EOI) ranking system, the lowest-scoring candidate in each sub-category received 71 points.

There were 61 occupations available for each category in this draw. On Saskatchewan’s government website, you can find a complete list of qualified occupations.

Educational Credential Assessments were also required for both groups to show that their foreign education was similar to the Canadian norm.

The Express Entry sub-category in Saskatchewan

The upgraded Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in the Express Entry sub-category is linked to the federal Express Entry system.

Express Entry is in charge of the candidate pool for three of Canada’s most popular economic immigration programs:

  • the Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program, and
  • Canadian Experience Class.

In order to be eligible for an invitation to submit for a provincial nomination, candidates with Express Entry profiles must additionally build EOI profiles for Saskatchewan.

Express Entry candidates who get a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan are given an extra 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System. This prize effectively ensures that they will be able to apply for permanent residency in Canada.

Details on the Occupations In-Demand subcategory

It is a basic PNP available to immigrants who do not have an Express Entry profile.

This sub-category is for highly skilled employees with experience in a Saskatchewan-demanded occupation but has not yet been offered a position in the province.

Foreign people must build an EOI profile through the SINP’s online application system in order to apply for Canadian immigration through this sub-category.

The EOI system in Saskatchewan allows the province to choose immigrants who have the potential to prosper in the prairie province. Candidates will be judged on their capacity to settle in Saskatchewan based on their work experience, education, language skills, age, and ties to the province.
