3,600 candidates invited through Express Entry to apply for PR

The Express Entry draw held on 10th July with a cut-off score of 460 (CRS) points issued 3,600 invitations to apply for Canadian PR was the largest draw since January. The cut-off score also had a drop of 2 points from the previous Express Entry draw with a minimum score of 462.  The cut-off score for 10th July was 460 CRS points.

The more invitations to apply reflects more admission targets for the year 2019-2020. The three main Federal High Skilled immigration programs are managed by the Express Entry system which includes, Federal Skill Trade Class, Federal Skilled Worker Class, and Canadian Experience Class. Apart from this, a portion of Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is also managed by Express Entry. Even the PNPs have higher admission targets for the year 2019-2020.

The ranking of Express Entry points is based on the factors that include education, age, language proficiency (English or French) and skilled work experience. The highest scoring candidates are issued ITAs or invitation to apply for Canadian residence. After receiving an invitation to apply candidates will have 60 days to apply for Canadian PR.  IRCC (Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada) has a standard processing time of six months for Express Entry applications. IRCC has issued 45,400 ITAs so far this year.
