Federal Skilled Worker invitations got a jump by 400% in 2017 – New Express Entry report.

A year-end review report of Express Entry system 2017 performance was released by IRCC. Candidates who applied for Federal Skilled Worker Class and Canadian Experience Class through Express Entry were benefited from the changes by which the federal economic immigration systems are awarded the most points.

The anticipated year-end report shows the ITAs (Invitations to Apply)issued to candidates in Federal Skilled Worker Program drastically rose from 8,332 in 2016 to 41,364 in 2017 and ITAs issued to candidates of Canadian Experience Class rose from 15,201 to 35,020 in 2016 to 2017 respectively.

Federal Skilled Workers were also benefited from faster and lesser processing time. More than 80% of the Federal Skilled Worker applications were processed in less than 4 months, down from 6 months.

The unmatched number of ITAs (Invitation to Apply) were issued in 2017 and also match up with the lowest CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) cut-off-score seen 413 – on May 31st, 2017.

In 2017, applications received were 109,497. Invitations were sent to 86,022 applications from which 93,596 visas were issued and nearly 65,401 permanent residents were welcomed to Canada.

As per a report, Immigration Refugee Citizenship Canada says “The Express Entry pool has become a major source of permanent residence applications for the economic immigration category.” The results of 2017 were highest ever reported, the immigration plans for 2018, 2019 and 2020 calls for even more increase in the number of admissions through Express Entry.
