Immigrant Employees in Agriculture, Health & Manufacturing Sectors receive Invites via Ontario’s PNP

Canada immigration is being modernised as per Canadian prime minister recent public address.

The 11th of August was the day when the Canadian province of Ontario sent out 48 invites to potentially eligible candidates in order to proceed towards their PNP applications.

The novel implementation of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)’s second-time hosting of the In-Demand skills stream draws assisted with screening suitable candidates. Those interested in receiving a potential Ontario PNP can create a profile through its freshly installed Expression of Interest system instead of the previously used first-come-first-served system, which was time-sensitive. This in turn indicated how interested candidates were encouraged to legitimately ‘express their interest’ to move ahead in the process.

This draw was without the existence of an upper limit score requirement and all those who were deemed eligible were only required to possess relevant job offers in either of the listed profiles as per the National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes.

All those candidates who received their invitations to apply further via the province are now left with a cumulative 14 days’ period to proceed with their application submissions so as to become eligible for probable permanent residency within Ontario.

Details on the In-Demand Skills Pathway

The main objective of scouting potential talent for this program is done on the basis of the demanding needs and requirements of the province instead of viewing every individual’s occupational experience. Even though, in most parts of Canada, the government is very firm on taking in immigrants who demonstrate a wide range and high level of skill, Ontario possesses a stark lack of low-skilled level jobs and hence seeks to fill up those impending vacancies by scouting individuals through this stream.

Those residing overseas and possessing relevant and valid job offers from Ontario are eligible to apply for potential PNP nomination provided they also have about 9 months’ job experience working within the province considering the recent past 2-3 years. Season-specific work is deemed ineligible while part-time workers could be eligible only if they show proof of successfully completing the stipulated requirement of working hours. Valid working hours involve about 1,200 working hours in a stipend-based profession over a time period of a minimum of 18 months. For those individuals who changed multiple jobs, the requirement would be covering an overall period of 30 hours every week working for a period of 9 months at the minimum.

On a general basis, various other requirements exist such as meeting the language proficiency level score of a minimum of 4 in all categories, having the relevant educational background, sufficient amount of settlement funds, etc.

Procuring Immigration points for Ontario’s Program

The province believes that individuals that demonstrate the ability to become bigger talents and thrive eventually while residing here should possess a select set of certain human capital factors that it uses to rank these candidates depicted via their EOI profiles. Points are also allotted based on the skill level type of the offer you received from the province and also based on the quality and duration of your previous working experience.

The level of such requirements varies based on the region you’re aiming for. Some of them also take into consideration your age, the region you worked or studied in, and certain language proficiency skills. In case you’re able to meet the labor market vacancies at the time of your application, you shall be eligible to procure a total of 10 points as a bonus to your eventual score.
