Prince Edward Island’s latest PNP draw invited 188 candidates

The immigration draw for Prince Edward Island was held on November 18.

188 immigration hopefuls applied for a provincial nomination under the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).

Express Entry and Labour Impact applicants received the majority of the invites (172). Business Impact candidates with at least 67 points in the province’s immigration system received the remaining 16 invites.

The Express Entry Category of the PEI PNP is an improved PNP, meaning it is linked to the federal government’s Express Entry system. Candidates must have a profile in the system to be considered for this stream.

Express Entry is a service that manages immigration applications. It processes applications for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class, which are all economic-class immigration programs.

Eligible candidates are given a CRS score based on their age, work experience, education, and English or French language competency.

PEI sponsors a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) invitation round once a month. The total number of invitations issued this year is currently 1,729.

PNPs allow Canadian provinces and territories to select immigrants who meet their labor market needs. This is true in Prince Edward Island, which administers the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program in accordance with nationally approved rules (PEI PNP).

The next Prince Edward Island PNP draw will be held on December 16, 2021.

Express Entry candidates who are nominated by a province gain an extra 600 points on their CRS score and are practically guaranteed an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in the next Express Entry draw.

Express Entry candidates must develop an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with the PEI PNP in order to be eligible for a provincial nomination.

The province’s unique points grid is used to assign points to EOI profiles. The candidates with the highest scores are then asked to apply in monthly lotteries.

Impact on the Workforce

Foreign nationals who have a valid work offer in PEI and are supported by their company are eligible for the Labour Impact Category. Skilled Worker, Critical Worker, and International Graduate are the three streams.

In order to be considered for a provincial nomination under the Labour Impact Category, candidates in this category must also submit an Expression of Interest.

Category for Business Impact

Candidates in the Business Impact Category must meet the provincial minimum score criterion in order to continue with their applications. Every draw has a different score. PEI issued invitations under the Work Permit Stream, which is for international entrepreneurs who desire to establish and operate a business on the island.
