Australia has skilled relocation visa schemes that permit section of talented migrants every year on a transitory or permanent basis.

Consistently a huge number of foreign specialists live and work in Australia observing the way of life and business openings offered.

The skilled relocation program isn’t an ‘open framework’. The administration has presented the occupation ceiling with an end goal to secure the employment opportunities for local people or to meet the levels of demands.

Occupation ceiling is an amount for individual occupations, which means, the most extreme number of talented migrants permitted in a particular career field under the skilled relocation scheme.

The occupation list is being developed after thorough research and consultation with the industries. The Skilled Occupation List (SOL) is endorsed by the Department of Home Affairs. The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has recently declared the ceiling for various occupations for the year 2018-19.

As per DHA site, a welcome round to apply for the Skilled – Independent (subclass 189) and Skilled – Regional (Provisional) (subclass 489) was led on 11 August 2018.

Welcome rounds are foreseen to keep running on the eleventh day of every month.

There have been ongoing changes to the skilled visa programs of 12 August 2018. These include:

  • The execution of the Skilling Australians Fund (SAF) and
  • Changes to the Labor Market Testing (LMT) administrative instrument.

 TSS visa applications handling

Order for preparing applications held up under the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (subclass 482) sets the priority of need for considering such applications – that is:

  1. Applications held up by licensed supporters
  2. Applications held up for positions that are situated in a territorial Australia
  3. Applications held up under the Labor Agreement stream
  4. All different applications

If the application does not come into the categories 1-3above, it receives the least priority as per ministerial direction.

End of priority processing service

The present administration of handling demands for TSS and Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (Subclass 457) visa applications stopped on 5 September 2018. That is, any email requests which are received on, or after, this date will not be acknowledged henceforth. This is on the grounds that:

  • The receipt of substantial volumes of invitations keeps on affecting resources accessible to process visa applications
  • The Subclass 457 visa pipeline is expected to be concluded before the finish of the year and the handling system, including monitoring visa applications where the related assignment application is shortly to expire.
  • TSS handling times are considerably speedier than for the Subclass 457 visa, with prioritization courses of action already in place.
