Are you a physiotherapist? Then you may have a chance to get work visa to Australia

Physiotherapy is an occupation that is in demand in Australia. According to Department of Labor of Australian Government, there was shortage of physiotherapists in Australia in 2014. This situation improved in 2015 but it was still difficult to recruit qualified physiotherapists in many parts in the country.

So if you are a qualified physiotherapist then you may get work visa to Australia. There are a lot of vacancies for physiotherapists in private clinics in the country. Most of these clinics want physiotherapists with sporting or musculoskeletal experience. Those physiotherapists with experience of more than three years or experience in women’s health are also in demand.

The demand for qualified physiotherapists is particularly high in the state of Queensland. Those migrating to Australia, as physiotherapists, get to work in hospitals, old age homes, and other healthcare facilities.

The demand for physiotherapists has increased in Australia in recent years because of many Australians choosing physiotherapy for meeting many of their healthcare needs. The craze for physiotherapy is reflected from the fact that in the state of Queensland alone there are more than 1860000 physiotherapy facilities and services, according to data from Department of Labor of Government of Australia.

Besides physiotherapists with experience in women’s health, those with experience in pediatrics (child healthcare) are also in great demand in states such as Queensland.

According to data from Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection around 5 employer- sponsored work visas (visa 457) were granted each year to immigrants, who were qualified physiotherapists, between 2010 and 2014. Besides this 21 work visas were given each year to self-identified physiotherapists between 2010 and 2014.

If you are a qualified physiotherapist then you should try to apply in a vacancy in one of the physiotherapy services or clinics in Queensland or other parts of Australia. If an employer finds you suitable for the job and is ready to sponsor you then you can get visa ‘457’ without much difficulty.

After migrating to Australia on the work visa and working there for a few years, there is a good chance that you will get permanent residency permit.

Alternatively, if you are looking to migrate to someplace else, Canada through its Express Entry Program is the most popular one for applying for a PR visa in Canada.

Have you applied for any jobs in Australia? If you are not getting good responses because of your visa status, you may need to apply for PR visa and then look for jobs there.
