Australia’s New Skilled Occupation List (SOL) – July 1



Australia Skilled Occupation List (SOL) announced for the year 2016-17 is active from July 1. Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) use SOL to recruit skilled individuals required by the labor market of Australia.

Australia has point based immigration system and individuals who enter Australia go through the points test to obtain skilled visas that offer permanent residence.

The Skilled Occupation List contains the occupations required by industries of Australia.

Immigration is well integrated with the labor market needs of Australia.

Australia demands a check from the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) to apply for the visa program.

    • Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 190
    • Temporary Skilled Visa Subclass 457
    • Employer Nominated Visa Subclass 186
    • Skilled Independent Visa Subclass 189
    • Temporary Graduate Visa Subclass 485
    • Skilled Regional Provisional Visa Subclass 489

All the above programs are point based skilled migration programs, uses the skilled occupation list to grant permanent residence.
