How to apply for a Canadian visa



 

The application forms are available on the VFS Canada site. Download these forms and the checklist of necessary documents required. Make sure you have the upgraded version of of a ‘PDF’ reader for filling the application. After you fill the forms, make sure you validate them online.There is an option on top of the page for doing so. Print a copy, sign where it is required.

You need to book your flight tickets as you will have to show your booking details while applying for the visa. There is always a risk when you book it prior to visa confirmation. So make sure you get refundable tickets. It shows that you are financially capable of booking your flight tickets and managing your accommodation. It creates the right impression.

Writing a cover letter is the next big step. After making sure that you have all your documents in place, write a cover letter explaining your purpose of visit. Also mention how you are going to take care of your expenses. If you have had obtained visas for other countries in the past, then make a note of that as well.

Opt for multiple entry visa option. Even if you don’t plan to be in Canada for long, this helps as a lot countries value your previous visa application records while issuing visas. The submission timings for passports are 8 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 3 pm. Get the token and when your turn comes, go ahead and submit your documents. The processing time usually is up to 2 weeks.
