The Quebec Skilled Worker program works on the basis of first-come first-serve basis. Unlike Canada Express Entry Program, one doesn’t have to compete with other applicants to get the visa. Under Quebec Skilled Worker Program, Computer Science graduates and candidates with accounting diplomas will now have a great chance to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence. Nurses are also in favour but the profession that is most benefited is Engineering.

When you apply under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program, you don’t have to demonstrate  any settlement funds to the government. IELTS doesn’t cause any delay in application as results can be sent months after the file submission. IT is very flexible in terms of the choice of language and unlike Canada Express Entry there are no minimum marks that you need to qualify. Scoring higher in your language will give you the edge as Quebec Skilled Worker Program is still a point based system.

The general requirements for the initial submission to the Quebec Skilled Worker Program are :

– Identity proof like Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate if applicable.

– Passport copies and residence visa copies if you are not currently in your country of citizenship

– Educational documents like degrees and diplomas

– Based on your qualifications you will be asked to provide employment details

It is not mandatory to have your language test results to apply initially, make a note that eventually it will be required to get a visa. Quebec Immigration considers general and academic IELTS results valid for proving your proficiency in English language. In case French is your mother tongue, you may take the DELF or TEF examination.
